Over the years, we have grown by embracing innovation and new technologies, without ever losing sight of who we are and where we come from.

For us, excellence means staying true to our roots, embracing change with humility, and bringing only the best of Tuscan tradition to your table.

Our history

Our story begins in 1947, among the Tuscan hills of Vinci and Pistoia.

In this land, Neri Ademaro founded his food company with a clear goal: to bring genuine products into family homes, the result of careful and respectful work. Olives, grown in the surrounding areas, became the heart of the business. From the very beginning, Neri devoted himself to the harvesting and preservation of these precious raw materials, constantly seeking the best ways to enhance and maintain their authenticity. Today, decades later, that vision continues to live on in every product we create, with the same dedication and care that marked our very first steps.

The first steps in the distribution of preserved vegetables in oil across Tuscany.

With the introduction of semi-manual packaging lines, the company began producing preserved vegetables in oil on a larger scale, while still maintaining a focus on artisanal quality. During this period, Neri products gained increasing trust and appreciation, leading to the first commercial partnerships and the expansion of distribution throughout Tuscany.

Beyond regional borders

With the involvement of Neri's daughters and the entire family in the company, the business began expanding beyond the borders of Tuscany, especially into Northern Italy. During this period, Neri also entered the large-scale retail sector (GDO), marking the beginning of a journey that would lead the company to reach new markets, both nationally and internationally.

The evolution of our production processes

The company continues its growth journey by evolving its production processes through the introduction of semi-automatic packaging lines. At the same time, pasteurization systems are gradually adopted, allowing for an extended shelf life of products preserved in oil and vinegar, without compromising the quality that has always set us apart.

Entry into large-scale retail and expansion into international markets

The sale of products preserved in oil and vinegar officially begins in large-scale retail. At the same time, the first connections with international clients are established, paving the way for global growth.

New production site

The inauguration of the new facility marks a major milestone for the company, with a total area of 15,000 square meters, 6,700 of which are covered. Thanks to this significant investment, the entire production process becomes fully automated—from raw material processing to packaging. The production capacity increases sevenfold compared to the previous plant, reaching approximately 400 jars per minute.

The first expansion

Just a few years after the inauguration of the new site, an expansion of the covered area becomes necessary. A 2,000-square-meter warehouse is built, bringing the total external area to 35,000 square meters. This expansion optimizes logistics flows and increases storage capacity, supporting the growth of the business and the rise in production.

The ecological shift and commitment to sustainability

Neri recognizes the importance of sustainability and takes a crucial step toward reducing its environmental impact. A photovoltaic system is installed, covering 75% of the company’s energy needs and providing most of the required power. The remaining energy demand is met with certified electricity through Guarantees of Origin (GO), confirming the use of renewable sources in accordance with Directive 2009/28/EC issued by the GSE.

Production growth toward new formats

The production lines are doubled to ensure greater flexibility and improved efficiency in processing preserved vegetables in oil. The new setup allows for a more dynamic management of production and is particularly suited for packaging in special-format jars, enabling the company to meet the evolving needs of an ever-changing market more precisely.

Primetta, 100% Tuscan tomatoes

Driven by the need to complete an already wide product range with peeled tomatoes, the acquisition of the Primetta brand takes shape—sharing the company’s core values and best representing the Tuscan tradition. Always focused on excellence, Primetta peeled tomatoes stand out for their attention to raw materials and a production philosophy centered on respect for the product and for those who bring it to the table, beyond purely commercial logic.

New tray line

New equipment is installed to produce packaging in flexible materials. Three production lines are created to expand the range, adding pouches and trays alongside glass jars. This expansion meets the diverse needs of the market and offers a wider variety of formats and packaging solutions.

Strengthening of facilities and optimization of production processes

The steady increase in sales initiates a phase of substantial investment in jar production facilities. The company enhances its sterilizers and pasteurizers, optimizes production processes, and ensures greater efficiency. This upgrade improves product quality and extends shelf life, while effectively meeting the growing demands of the market.

Anniversary and construction of the wastewater treatment plant

To further reduce environmental impact, a wastewater treatment plant using ultrafiltration technology is built—an important step toward sustainability that improves the efficiency of the production process. In the same year, on July 24, we celebrate the company's 70th anniversary with a special day dedicated to our long history. It is a unique occasion to honor the journey of a family that, across generations, has always placed excellence at the center of the table, laying the foundation for a future increasingly focused on quality and innovation.

Expansion of the photovoltaic system

The company continues its commitment to the environment with a significant expansion of its photovoltaic system. This decision not only reaffirms the goal of reducing environmental impact but also marks an important step in protecting the land and promoting sustainable practices. The clean energy produced powers the production process, helping to safeguard the environment without compromising product quality. It is another step toward an increasingly green future, where innovation and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

A year of growth for production lines

2024 marks a significant expansion of our production lines—a key step that further strengthens Neri’s position in the high-quality preserved vegetable and pickle market. This growth reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to offering an increasingly broad and efficient product range. Innovation remains at the heart of our decisions, allowing us to meet the growing demands of the market without ever compromising the quality that has made us a benchmark in the industry.
